Individualized Supported Living

The Willows Way, Inc. Individualized Supported Living program provides up to 24-hour a day supports to customers who live in their own homes in the community. Person centered supports are designed to facilitate choice, assisting the individual with deciding how they wish to live, work, learn and actively participate in their community.  Supports are provided by highly trained, caring staff at the individual’s home with oversight 24/7 if needed.  Social, recreational, transportation and home maintenance, and personal care are some of the core supports offered within the ISL structure.  The Individualized Supported Living program is funded by Medicaid Waiver and administered through the Department of Mental Health.

Additional supports are available in the area of:

• Medical: Willows Way supports customers with medical needs, including the management of medications. Person centered plans (PCP) identify the appropriate level of support with customers’ medical care.  The agency has a policy and specific guidelines for employees to follow when supporting customers’ medical care.

• Emergency Procedures: Willows Way provides support for customers during emergency situations.  If an emergency or serious accident occurs, support staff will immediately call 911 to request assistance and administer first aid and/or CPR if necessary.  In critical situations, the support staff may need to contact the doctor, psychiatrist, dentist, Managers, or Willows Way administrators for guidance. 

• Financial: Willows Way will support customers with financial needs. Person centered plans (PCP) will identify the appropriate level of support with customer finances.  Customers’ money belongs to the customer and is to be spent only on customer expenses and financial matters.  Support staff assist customers, if necessary, in planning monthly budgets and expenditures.

• Personalized supports: Willows Way provides support to individuals on a personalized basis. High levels of emphasis are placed on individual values and choices. Support staff assist customers to increase the customer’s level of independence and overall quality of life.
